Robust Color Choice for Small-size League RoboCup Competition

چکیده
In this paper, the problem of choosing a set of most separable colors in a given environment is discussed. The proposed method models the process of generating theoretically computed best colors, printing of these colors through a color printer, and imaging the printed colors through a camera into an integrated framework. Thus, it provides a feasible way to generate practically best separable colors for a given environment with a set of given equipment. A real world application (robust color choice for small-size league RoboCup competition) is used as an example to illustrate the proposed method. Experimental results on this example show the competitiveness of the colors learned from our algorithm compared to the colors adopted by other teams which are chosen via an extensive trial and error process using standard color papers.

Robust Color Segmentation Through Adaptive Color Distribution Transformation
Color segmentation is typically the first step of vision processing for a robot operating in a colorcoded environment, such as RoboCup soccer, and many object recognition modules rely on that. Although many approaches to color segmentation have been proposed, in the official games of the RoboCup Four Legged League manual calibration is still preferred by most of the teams. In this paper we pres...

The Small Size Robot League (SSL) was among the founding RoboCup leagues in the 1997 competition held during IJCAI’97 in Nagoya, Japan. Since then, the league has experienced various advances in terms of robot design, number of robots, field size, software algorithms and other infrastructure used during the games, among these the recent standardization of the vision system shared by all teams. ...

Currently, the Small Size League is the only RoboCup competition that permits the use of external sensing systems. Most teams use a color camera that is mounted above the field to determine the positions of the robots and the ball. Since this simplified setup is not compatible with the idea of autonomous robots, we decided to build a second F180 team for the World Championships 2001 in Seattle,...
